About Me
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, I spent my childhood between the countryside and the city. The life in the countryside was what triggered my passion for nature, and especially fire cooking.
Cooking over open flame became a part of my life at an early age, and making asados was a crucial part of my early years. Later on, I studied to be a chef at Mausi Sebbes culinary school, and and was the general manager at Japanese Peruvian Restaurant Nikkei restaurant in BsAs. I then worked for Argentine chef Francis Mallmann, and participated in projects such a seasonal restaurants and events in Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil and New York, as well as television programs in Patagonia.
I was hired by Turner Broadcasting System to be the host chef of “Roots,” a culinary documentary filmed in Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Argentina. The documentary explored Latin American traditions and the preparation of ancestral dishes.
I decided to emigrate from Argentina to Uruguay in the pursuit of a life close to the ocean and nature. With the help of an architect friend, I designed a home in Uruguay, where I hosted a single-table restaurant for a couple seasons. A partner and I opened a shop that combined local design and local produce, and a couple of years later I opened AZUL, a specialty coffee store.
In 2019, I met Chef Sarah Glover at a fire cooking workshop hosted by Chef Mallmann in Pueblo Garzón, Uruguay. A friendship began based on our shared passions of surfing and fire cooking, and we started hosting fire cooking workshops together. We have now cooked and taught in Tasmania, Byron Bay, Australia, and California. When I’m home in Punta del Este, Uruguay, I create culinary events for brands and private clients.
Film director Alfredo Oliveri, founder of House of Chef production, reached out and asked to make a documentary about my peculiar life in the little coastal town where I choose to live. The result was “Purity,” which was presented in the Malaga Film Festival in Spain and and won the Biznaga de Plata Award. The documentary is mainly about enjoying a simple life, and living with a romantic perception of life.
